  • Listings enter a moderation queue where site staff review basic details, contact information, and image uploads before publication.
  • Owners can update opening hours, add photos, reply to customer reviews, and manage their listings directly through their member dashboard.

2. Public-Source Directory Listings

To ensure the directory is immediately useful to the local community, some business profiles were initially compiled from public directory records and publicly available sources.

We handle public-source listings with complete transparency:

  • Clearly Labelled as Unclaimed: Every imported profile that has not yet been claimed by its owner carries a prominent note: “Unclaimed — details from public sources”.
  • No Unearned Badges: Unclaimed listings never display a “Verified” badge.
  • Easy Ownership Claims: Legitimate business owners can claim their profile at any time by clicking the “Is this your business? Claim it” link and completing a simple verification process.
  • Removal on Request: Business owners who prefer not to appear in the directory can request removal at any time using the “Remove my listing” form directly on their listing page, or by emailing [email protected]. A moderator reviews every request and we aim to act on it within 3 working days; nothing is removed automatically.

  • Strict Verification Standards: We only use the term “Verified” when our staff have verified specific facts—such as confirming the phone number or inspecting business registration documents.
